What are the Requirements?
Folkstory follows ASRM requirements for gestational carriers. Here's a quick rundown of what we're looking for in the pre-screening process:
Must have given birth, without complications, to at least one child and be living with that child.
Between 24 and 41 years of age.
BMI between 19 and 35.
No use of illegal drugs, no current or recent use of cigarettes, no history of alcohol abuse.
Must have the support of her family and partner (if any).
Cannot participate in public assistance programs such as welfare and section 8 housing.
No history of severe mental health issues.
Satisfied with family size (no desire to have more children).
Genuine desire to help others build their families.
Folkstory stands with immigrants.
Are you a DACA recipient or someone with legal but non-citizen status who's been turned down by other agencies? Get in touch. Let's see if your situation qualifies.
Okay, let's talk compensation.
Folkstory believes in fair and transparent compensation for gestational carriers. Our compensation package starts at $60K.
In addition to base pay ranging between $50K and $60K (depending on experience and insurance coverage), Folkstory GCs receive a monthly allowance, life/disability insurance, lost wages, and fees for medication start, transfer, and mock cycle.
We also set you up with a generous allowance for mental health care visits, a package for personal needs (including maternity clothes, yoga, chiropractor, you name it), and remuneration for postpartum self- and family care.
